TRANSCRIPT
Welcome to another edition of greatness quest. Today’s subject is TIME IS RUNNING OUT.
I’m standing in front of a 12-month calendar here. we’re into 2018, the days are taken off, they’re going by, and we’re going to talk about how to help you. And I make the most of that time. I know you’re gonna love this show.
(INTRO – AUDIO)
So I’ve been thinking a lot about this. Lately, I’ve been talking about on my podcast, how I’ve got different people that are, you know, that have passed away. And I’ve been thinking about Hold on, I’ve got a couple of images up. We don’t have Muhammad Ali with us anymore.
We don’t have so many people who have passed away recently that are famous, I’m not going to get into a big old list. But I also realized, like, I’ve got these pictures up in my house. That’s me and my daughter. I think she was four years old at that stage. And I don’t know if you noticed, but I got a little less hair than it did back then.
Like time is going by my son who feels like he was just born yesterday is now eight months old, my daughter who used to be so little that I would throw her up in the air that was on the beach in Hawaii.
Actually, if you look at this, there’s the top of my head rate on the picture point right here. Like, I’ve got these pictures of me throwing up my daughter. My daughter is like, right about here. Right now. She’s, she’s just gross. She’s 11 years old. And it looks like she’s a little teenager.
Time is going by. I was just looking at my journals recently. And I’ve got a whole box of them in here. I want to show you this.
Okay, so here in I’ve got all this is a lot of my like my education, my personal development education folder. And this box has a whole bunch of my journals. I mentioned this the other day on one of my podcast, and I was looking through my journals to learn from them.
And so we’re going to talk a little bit about journaling today. And that’s going to be the challenge for you to give you some insight. But what I was looking for were a couple of things that I’d put in my journal that I’m really grateful that I did, because I had them captured when I met my wife.
And we were going through a stage where we almost broke up, I went back to my journal, I was having a conversation with a mentor of mine in my head. It was Tony Robbins.
And I was talking to him and I had to because the way the crazy way that I do this, I wanted to phrase my question in such a way that he would talk back to me. And so he did, and he would talk to me and I would talk to him and as my voice both times, but he reminded me and he asked me questions during that conversation.
And I went into a journal entry that I had written years before I had met my wife and I had written down my ideal person that I want to be with. So here’s the thing since time is running out since you and I don’t know how many more minutes we’re going to have on this planet.
The reason that I’m bringing up journals is like this isn’t journal entry that I wrote in 2002 like I was reviewing the scripture that I wrote like a by the Bible is written is scripture, right?
And it’s supposed to be God’s word is written by a whole bunch of dudes who put their best thoughts and ideas down on paper apparently that’s from the Word of God. But they got to they it was a came through the human hand and you and I have the opportunity to create what we want.
Now I was looking for a couple of things in here I was looking for I’m won’t even allude to one of the ones was this, this list that I had written, because I wanted to show that to you. And I will do that on another episode.
But I’m gonna bring you to a call to action today and not take up a lot of your time. I’m sitting here on my my desk. And I’ve got a lot of plans, a lot of ideas, a lot of things that I want to implement. If you look there is a short list of sticky tabs. Each one of those is the new idea for another episode of my daily podcast.
How on earth am I going to get all those things done? Like, this is the this is a short list of what I want to do this week in business. Like I’ve got stuff, my walls are littered with my concepts and ideas and things that I’m creating.
I spend every single day focused on more stuff that I can go ahead and and create and train and give and help people come live a rich life and be happy and healthy and wealthy, to be happy, rich, and rich and happy. That’s what I want to help you do.
So I’m going to give you the gifts right now of how to choose since times ticking by myself. stopwatch, go imagine that we still have it in my hand. I lost it in home by ramping around. I want you to just start to count every single second.
Lately, I’ve been carrying that stopwatch around on my chest. And I’m tracking how much time I spend on different things. Time is running out this dog. His name is Mojo. He’s not here anymore. I the limited amount of time that I got to spend with him. This dog not here anymore.
This is Isis who taught me about unconditional love. Okay, not here anymore. I’ve got friends who have passed, we have family members who have passed. What are you going to do with your available time?
And here’s the secret, okay, it starts with one of these, that’s your pen or your pencil. And one of those, this is your journal. This is your scripture to figure out to close your eyes and listen and decide what it is that you want.
You have moments left, we just have a few of them. Whether you have 10 moments left or 10,000 moments or 10 million moments, they are not enough. And we’re never going to be able to do all of these things that we want to do and have planned we’re never going to be able to do them all.
So we do need to choose. And my advice to you since time is running out is to pick the things that are going to move the needle the most a lot of those things probably shouldn’t do.
But one of the things that I’m extremely grateful for that I took the time to do was write those books. Not every book on the shelf is mine.
But the ones that are I am so grateful that I have them. One of my books is called what’s the gift. It’s like, if I pass today, I am so grateful that that is something that I can leave behind. For my kids.
I’ve written a book about how to help you write the book and get it done fast. If you want to receive that book as a gift from me, send me a message and I’ll give you a link to get that book.
In fact, if you read the transcripts on every single one of my podcasts, I or you’re looking on my website for what I’ve got here, I give that away. I give that book away. I’m not doing that because I make money out and I’m doing that because I want to make a difference.
And what’s more important than my story is your what’s yours. What’s more important than you tell it than me telling you how cool my journal entries are, is for you to make your own. And I am so grateful that I have a box of journals going back at least till 2002. I didn’t get to look at them all.
My challenge to you is to start journaling every day. I’m doing this in a couple of cool ways right now. I like the written word. I like to use a pen or a pencil to do much to write stuff out. I’m visual. I like to see my goal up on the wall. I love this.
However, I’m also a talker so I’m using this app lately called otter Otter.ai. And I get up every morning and I talked to that thing and call it my walk and talk. And all I do is talk to myself and that’s my journal and I have somewhere I type on the computer and I keep them in Evernote.
So I use a couple of tools I use good old piece that book right I use a pencil, I use my phone and I just record something right into it. And I use my laptop and the tech that I use is called Evernote. It doesn’t really matter where you keep your journal.
Just keep one because it is it is it is your voice that you need to be listening to. It is the voice inside of you that speaking through you that you need to be listening to. And time is running out.
That’s all I got for you today. Start journaling every day and discover new things. Write down what you want. Write down your challenges. And if you’ve got a really big level of balls are really level of courage. You’ll share the scariest shit the stuff that you’re most maybe even embarrassed by. You’ll share that with others.
And you’ll turn that potentially into some of your best marketing and it’ll be some of your best messaging that makes a difference in people’s lives because they want to hear what’s really going on for you.
That’s all I got for you today. Hope you enjoyed the show and I can’t wait to see tomorrow another daily dose of greatness quest.
