If you have a result you want, and you want to get it really quickly, how are you going to do it?
Before I give you my answer, I want you to think about this for yourself…
How would you do that? If you had a result you really wanted, would you take a lot of action? What would you do?
I’ll give you my secret: I ask for help.
Actually, I find someone who has created the result in the past and who is willing to show me how to do it. Now that may seem pretty simple, (and it is…) but let me give you three distinctions, three levels that you can use this.
1. Modeling
Years ago, I had a water sports business. And, at the time, I was doing awful, I wasn’t making enough money to get by. So I found a guy that was working on my boat who was really great at one aspect and I started modeling him. He could actually sell T-shirts.
I was selling only two t-shirts a month. (Yeah, not really the best T-shirt salesman.) He was selling 20 t-shirts – a day.
So here’s what I did, I brought him out on my boat to copied (or model) what he did. So, within a short period of time, like less than a month, I was able to sell the same number of t-shirts. So that is modeling.
2. Mentoring
After I closed that company, I started a new one. I started it because I a friend of mine was earning $20,000 a month… and he was only working 20 hours a week. So I said, “Hey man would you be my Mentor, and you show me how to do what you’re doing?”
He agreed, and then showed me how, and sure enough, I was able to recreate that same result – much faster than he had – because he helped me out.
3. Hire a Professional Mentor
The next level is to find a professional mentor. This is much different than modeling. Much different from having a mentor. Finding a ‘professional’ mentor who is an expert at not just getting a result, but who is an expert at showing and teaching others… who can take you step by step and show you exactly what to do… THIS IS POWERFUL.
The first time I hired my first professional mentor, he was a business consultant who helped me increase my income from $20,000 a month to $80,000 a month – in less than 5 months.
That was the part… and he took me step by step. It wasn’t all this magical stuff. It was more systematic.
More direct. More impactful. He helped me with insights and shortcuts regarding exactly what I needed to know, what to do, and how and when to do it.
So if you want to create results really quickly, I suggest you ask for help.
Don’t just going out there and take more action. (Maybe you are doing some of the wrong things, or just not doing something that would move you rapidly ahead.)
I suggest you find someone who you totally trust, who is a professional at what they do, and they’ll show you step by step how to go get it. There is a lot of ways to create results – I prefer proven, fast paths… preferably fast paths to profits..
So go out and create results quickly. Go out and get whatever it is you want most.
Consider it your own greatness quest to – become your best.
